About Us

The EVA Berlin conference is an annual discussion forum for electronic documentation and visualization technologies in the field of cultural heritage applications. Ambitious digitization projects with regard to cultural context, network-based research and new technical opportunities for museums, libraries and archives are presented with a strong reference to their usage. It encourages the exchange between heritage institutions and technology providers, information professionals and the public administration on current issues and innovative technologies of the digital society.

 

Conference, workshops and exhibition offer a valuable opportunity to gain insight into new products and services and to establish partnerships.

Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Preußischer Kulturbesitz (National Museums in Berlin, Prussian Cultural Heritage)

The National Museums in Berlin, the origins of which lie in the foundation of the Royal Museum through Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia, belong to the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz (Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation). Further members of the Foundation are the State Library, the State Archive, the Ibero-American Institute and the State Institute for Music Research with the Museum of Musical Instruments. The Foundation was established in 1957 in order to preserve the cultural heritage of the former state of Prussia and is supported by the Federal Government and the 16 federal states.

With its institutions grown over generations, the National Museums in Berlin can be seen as a universal museum for the preservation, research and mediation of treasures of art and cultural treasures of the entire human history. Its collections include European and non-European art, archeology and ethnology of almost all nations, cultures and time periods.
